CoroCoro - Guinomi -窯変

Toshiaki's "CoroCoro" Sake cup series. "CoroCoro" is a Japanese expression that describes something swaying back and forth. Just as the name suggests, this piece is designed to be placed on a table and sways gently when nudged (but don't worry, it's designed not to tip over). 

This piece uses the traditional Bizen technique called YOHEN, which involves intentional use of kiln transformation during firing. By covering the piece with a lot of firewood ash during firing, it creates a whitish hue due to a chemical reaction. The natural whitish hue produced by nature gives a modern impression.
